About me
Growing up in Pune, with a comparatively nonchalant family, I have always been interested in talking about, cooking, and having good food. I was so interested in making food that I invented a couple of dishes (there was a reason no one made them before) when I was eight.
I studied Hotel Management, with the dream of becoming an amazing chef one day, and then I realised that the kitchen is not something that I would look forward to coming to every day of my life. I loved cooking when I wasn't obligated to cook. And by the time I realised it, it was time to choose a specialization, which was a panicked decision. The specialization I chose, which I felt went against everything my life had built up to that moment, shaped my career.
After I graduated, I worked at a 5-star hotel for a short while and then decided to take a gap year. It was a vacuum; the confusion, the chaos, the questions. During this, while I was doom scrolling (because that's constant), I saw my cousin's article on wordpress, and got an idea to do so myself. Write about what I knew.
That is how "Bite and Brood" started, and it became my respite.
My love for food didn't die; it just combined with my love for writing. Gradually, it went from just a food blog to a place where I could rant, pour my heart out, and, as per the '4 log' that my family is constantly worried about, a blog for my feminist agenda (they're not wrong). But it's more than that.
This blog is me.
